PROJECT Course training session

Project Course training session

1. Training

START DATE - September 10, 2021. The program includes seven modules covered at online study sessions five hours each (from 10 AM to 3 PM with coffee breaks).

2. The first days

Days one and two consist of a two-hour seminar and 2–2.5 hours of mixed practice (individual case analysis and facilitated group discussion in small groups). Each study session balances theory and practice. Day three is dedicated to 60–90 minute workshops by guest speakers (top managers and relevant experts).

3. Activity

Students earn points for participating in every activity during the study sessions. These points are necessary for obtaining a course completion certificate. Furthermore, to get a credit for a study module, a student is required to submit an essay that follows a prescribed structure and describes their learning experience within three weeks after the session.
Students who want to obtain a course completion certificate must attend five study sessions and submit essays on all of the five modules in a timely fashion.

4. Additional practice

If a student does not have any questions after a three-day study session or if a particular module is not among their priorities, they can get a credit for the module by submitting a short essay and resume their studies a month later at the next session.
Students who want more hands-on experience with a particular module can inform their curator about their intention to participate in additional group practice. We assist groups with weekly supplementary training sessions in between the core study sessions. Each group is provided with additional cases to analyze and an assigned School facilitator at every session.

Key differences

Key differences

Theory (yes, this IS important)

STANDARD PROGRAM: 12-15 lessons, 1-1.5 hours each. A total of approximately 12-20 hours.

TETICS: 5 x 3-day sessions, 5 hours of theory per session. A total of approximately 25 hours of theory study.

Bonus materials

STANDARD PROGRAM: Usually, these are either not provided or are recordings of guest presentations (10-12 hours).

TETICS: Live presentations by guest speakers, students are given the opportunity to ask questions after the talk, or access a recording for further study (10-12 hours).

Access to course materials

STANDARD PROGRAM: 1-2 years

TETICS: 3 years

Employment opportunities

STANDARD PROGRAM: +
(This is stated in the brochure, we have not verified this)

TETICS: −
(In our opinion, this creates a conflict of interest between our corporate clients and the School)

Throughout the training period students are supported by their allocated tutor

STANDARD PROGRAM: −
Usually, a tutor is not allocated to support the group, and organizational issues are resolved. by peer support within the group via email/messenger. It is rare that the tutor sees the students at work.

TETICS:
− Having a tutor allocated to the group ensures that students receive feedback during study sessions.
− Any organizational issues that arise in the group are resolved by the allocated tutor, who is available at all times during working hours.
− The tutor will follow up with students who are missing sessions.
− The tutor can give individual feedback on motivation and involvement in the program.

Additional group workshops are held between study sessions.

STANDARD PROGRAM: +

TETICS: +

Availability of case studies and specifically designed tasks

STANDARD PROGRAM: +/-
Many courses provide theory input only, consolidated with comprehension questions or automated tests.

TETICS: +
The case studies remain the intellectual property of the institution, as seen with leading MBA programs.

While a program is on the market, it creates a supply of practitioners in the labor market who apply the same philosophy and tools.

STANDARD PROGRAM: 1-2 years
After 1-2 years the program then becomes obsolete and the methodologies are replaced.

TETICS: 10-12 years
The program is developed, maintained and refined by the authors with the involvement of third-party expert practitioners, methodologists and guest speakers.

Practice

STANDARD PROGRAM: Each class requires an equal amount of preparation time. This means a further 12-20 hours of independent study is required.

TETICS: 5 x 3-day sessions each consisting of 7-8 hours of practical and group lessons. A total of approximately 35-40 hours of individual and group work:
− 10-15 hours of individual work
− 25-30 hours of group work

Bonus modules

STANDARD PROGRAM: −

TETICS: A further 2 months of additional classes: 10-12 hour informal workshops on the topics covered as part of the main program.

Points system for obtaining a certificate on completion of the course

STANDARD PROGRAM: +

TETICS: +

The experience level of the students corresponds to the level of group work, discussion and exchange of experiences

STANDARD PROGRAM: beginner to intermediate (The marketing results show the course helps you to improve your managerial skills or land your first leadership role)

TETICS: medium to high (We only train those who are already in work, we do not train those who have no previous work experience)

Independent study

STANDARD PROGRAM:
− Often independent study is not monitored and there is no feedback on completed work.
− It is used as consolidation after theoretical input on a module.
− It is postponed "for later" or set as a general revision task.
− Questions are sent by email or messenger and the response is often delayed.

TETICS:
− Independent study is seen as mandatory preparation for group work.
− It is integrated into the educational process (theory - independent study/ training - group work).
− Peer feedback on individual tasks is made once they are completed, the curator then works with the group to finalize the solution.
− Questions on the practical application of the solution are discussed in a trainer-led session.

Closed communication among the group members

STANDARD PROGRAM: +

TETICS: +

Language options available for each module

STANDARD PROGRAM: −

TETICS: +
Russian or English

Total course duration

STANDARD PROGRAM: 1.5 - 3.5 months.

TETICS: 5 - 7 months (program length is 5 months + 2 months of additional group-based practice).

Format

STANDARD PROGRAM: "Online, at a convenient time" usually means that the materials are only available as a recording.

TETICS: Scheduled live seminars - allow participants to ask the trainer questions and a recording of the session will be uploaded to your personal account.

Possibility of undertaking a further post graduation project

STANDARD PROGRAM: −

TETICS: +

Coach support

STANDARD PROGRAM:
− by email
− through online feedback

TETICS:
− during the seminar
− during additional Q&A sessions
− during additional classes as requested by students
− by email
− through online feedback

Group work

STANDARD PROGRAM:
− Usually this is not included in a course, learning is conducted according to an individual’s schedule
− Students do not discuss the results they obtained and/or questions that have arisen.

TETICS:
− Group work is an integrated element of the training system.
− Group work is facilitated by the allocated tutor.
− The group facilitates discussions.
− Each group member is involved in the facilitator-led discussion and completes the tasks in the study materials.

Closed alumni group.

STANDARD PROGRAM: +/-

TETICS: +

Availability of support and opportunity for feedback on questions by group facilitators

STANDARD PROGRAM: —
None, since group case discussions are not available

TETICS: +
Developed by the case authors, in order to verify and refine the effectiveness of the solution obtained by the group.

Interviewing students during the admissions process determines how groups will be allocated.

STANDARD PROGRAM: —
It seems there is no entry selection process?

TETICS: +
There is a mandatory personal interview, because we are looking for smart people who are suited to working and studying in groups.

The application process

The application process

Why do we have such a lengthy admissions process?

Our students study in groups. The motivation and engagement of each participant affects their personal involvement and the overall dynamics of the group.

Each participant’s level of interest in the program depends on how well the group is matched. Groups are arranged according to the complexity of the tasks they will work on.

Our training format is based on resolving scenarios that a manager would typically encounter in the workplace, these are then followed by group discussion.

After we receive payment for the course, we ask students to complete an introductory assignment, which is used to group the students according to their level of experience. The assignment also allows us to assess the willingness of each student to study in our format.
The assignment asks applicants to solve a case, describe the main steps for the solution and complete a questionnaire. The next stage is an online interview with teachers at the School.

The final decision on admission is made by the School, after the interview. Should the interview be unsuccessful, the full amount paid for the course is refunded to the student. According to the results of the interview, the student will also receive recommendations by the school on the modules in the course and Author’s Studio that they should enroll in.
